Answers:

What will Red Penguin Productions make for me?

We take your photos, video footage, edit all the best parts, add cool special effects and transitions, add text, and set the whole thing to music. We also provide copies on a professional looking DVD with full color artwork and on CD-ROM so you can give them out to your relatives/friends/whomever!

My movie will be on DVD and on CD-ROM?

We know that different people will want to view your memory movie in different ways. For the savvy computer user, you can give a CD so they can watch your movie on their computer screen, or upload it to a website. Others would rather have a DVD they can stick in their DVD player. We provide both a DVD and a CD-ROM with every order!

I understand DVD, but how does CD-ROM work?

Just about every computer today comes with a CD-ROM drive. You can store lots of information on a CD, including music, reports, financial statements, and even movie files! We produce your movie in Windows Media format, which is an industry standard that can be played on both Macintosh and Microsoft Windows PC's. So whether you use your CD on a Windows-based machine or an Apple Macintosh, your movie should play just fine!

What About Picture CD's, floppy disks, or email?

Absolutely! It's becoming more and more popular to have photos developed onto Picture CD's or onto floppy disks. Also, more and more people are using digital cameras rather than traditional photo prints. Feel free to email your photos to us! We are happy to use these digital pictures in your movie!

Can I send you my VHS tapes?

Absolutely! We can convert your analog VHS tape to digital so we can edit and incorporate your home movies into your finished product. And what's best about this is that we can edit them so that we only use the best moments. Don't worry, editing your movie leaves your original VHS tape unharmed!

What about High-8?

Indeed, High-8 works fine for us, just as VHS does!

What about VHS-C?

VHS-C has grown in popularity. It's a lot like a VHS tape, but smaller. You click it into an adapter and can play it on your regular VCR. If that's the kind of tape you have, that's no problem. We can use those just fine!

How do I sign-off on the order?

Upon receipt of your order, we will personally create a written "story board" showing roughly what your video will look like. Depending upon the complexity of your order, we may need to communicate via telephone/email/fax/etc. to come to an understanding of what you'd like. Please understand that story-boarding is not an exact science, and Red Penguin Productions will not be held to exact standards. Your deposit includes 3 storyboard attempts. Any more after 3 will be subject to a $25 fee each. We will mail you the story board. You sign to indicate that you're happy with the design. Red Penguin Productions will then make a best effort to craft your video to the design in the story board.

How do I pay?

$150 deposit is required at the time of the order. Red Penguin Productions will then draft a written "storyboard" for your approval. If the client is happy with the storyboard, then the client signs it and sends it back with the remainder of the balance. You do not have to pay the $150 deposit twice. We accept personal check and cashier's check. Checks returned because of insufficient funds are subject to a $30 administrative fee.

What if I want changes after the order is signed-off?

Given the nature of our business, we cannot allow changes to be requested after the storyboard is signed-off without adding a surcharge. Any changes made after format is agreed-upon will be subject to a $75/hour fee with a 4-hour minimum. Also, client must pay for any DVD's & CD-ROMs that were already created.
